THEATRES INTEGRATED IN THE “ÒPERA A CATALUNYA” CYCLE

Sabadell

Teatre La Faràndula is a theatre belonging to Sabadell City Council located at Carrer de la República, 33 of that city. It opened on 30 December 1956 and has a seating capacity for 1,060 spectators.

Reus

Teatre Fortuny is a theatre in Reus which was built in 1882 to endow what was then the second most important town in Catalonia with a theatre on a par with those of other big cities. Its name is a tribute to Marià Fortuny i Marsal, a Catalan painter born in Reus.

Manresa

The Kursaal is a theatre-auditorium located at Passeig de Pere III in Manresa, right in the heart of the city. Andreu Cabot i Puig, a businessman with long experience in the film industry, was the promoter of the building’s construction in the late 1920s.

Sant Cugat del Vallès

The Teatre-Auditori Sant Cugat was built in 1993 to give the town of Sant Cugat del Vallès the chance to enjoy a rich and varied cultural offering in the heart of the city and to become a cultural benchmark.

Girona

The Teatre Municipal de Girona is a public theatre of the municipality of Girona. The building in which it is found forms part of the Architectural Heritage Inventory of Catalonia.

Granollers

The Teatre Auditori de Granollers is a theatre complex situated at Carrer Torras i Bages, no. 50, in Granollers (Vallès Oriental region). Designed by the architect Josep Maria Botey, it opened on 15 February 2002.

Tarragona

Teatre Tarragona is a theatre in the Italian style with stalls and a grand circle. It has a seating capacity for 698 spectators. Built in 1924, after various periods with several turns of fate it reopened its doors in the city on 11 December 2012.

Tortosa

Teatre Auditori Felip Pedrell, a theatre complex located in the city of Tortosa, opened in 1995. It is one of the most important cultural facilities in southern Catalonia, offering an annual programme of theatre, dance and concerts.

Figueres

The building that now houses Teatre Municipal El Jardí was built in 1916 in an area of the city called Horta d’en Gayolà, forming what is today Plaça Josep Pla. This facility offers a varied programme of theatre, music, dance and circus, in addition to other artistic disciplines.

Cornellà de Llobregat

The Auditori de Cornellà opened in 1994 and ever since then it has been a leading cultural centre for the city of Cornellà de Llobregat as well as for the whole Baix Llobregat region and its metropolitan surroundings.
