“Introducció a l’òpera” (Introduction to Opera) is a talk given by the art historian and musicographer Albert Ferrer Flamarich, aimed to give the public an idea of the complexity of opera as a performance in which various arts interact. This talk also presents the different types of operas and voices, commenting on some of the formal musical devices that characterise it. It takes a popular approach that helps people to understand some of the keys to the enduring favour and attraction enjoyed by opera.
